A couple weeks ago, I got to attend a lecture by Paul Briggs (The Head of Story for Frozen and Big Hero 6!!) about storyboarding and crafting classic narratives that make Disney so loved.
I drew him a little watercolor doodle (Did you know he’s also the voice of Marshmallow in Frozen?!) and he was actually so incredibly nice and talked to me about how he got into the Disney biz and then returned the favor with a signed and sketched little bit of inspiration.
It’s now hanging up in my cube, reminding me to have hope and keep going because freakin Paul Briggs told me to XD
I’m bad at dancing and I’m bad at fashion but it’s impossible to resist either when you work for the happiest place on Earth.
Doctor Who came up for Sketch Dailies and it made me realize I have never drawn the wondrous perfection that is Clara Oswald Oswin…
It also made me realize I’ll never get over Matt Smith leaving :(
My favorite image yet so far on this fantastic internship. Check out the rest of our gallery coverage by Todd, Chloe Rice, and I from the Villains Unleashed event held at Disneys Hollywood Studios. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/galleries/2014/08/villains-at-disneys-hollywood-studios-villains-unleashed/#photo-5
I’m not the only intern who gets to do awesome stuff. Check out my buddy Charlie! He’s an awesome photography intern who just spends all day shooting Disneyworld. Seriously. Like they pay him to do that.
I forgot to submit this one yesterday. Oh well.
Tiana had gorgeous character design but I can’t lie and say I wasn’t disappointed that they didn’t give her a set of big gorgeous afro curls.
The gold bits were done with a real gold pen so I’ll upload a quick video later cuz the uncolored sketch is so shiny and cool!
I was just asked to extend my Art Director internship for another six months so I’ll be here til June doodling and designing for Disney!
My time here so far has been even better than the last time and I’m so excited for the days when I’ll actually be able to share all the amazing projects I’ve got to be a part of :D
Busy in an understatement. But I can’t help but love the 7 days of color challenge by victoriaying
I’m *probably* going to be doing Disney themed doodles for this challenge so I can get away with doing these in the little breaks I get at work…
Lovely came at long last! Its gorgeous and inspiring and everything that I love about visual development. I have two huge prints of Frozen wonderlands by Lisa Keene in my cube and art from all the other ladies strung up on the walls but this is just a new level of awesome I couldn’t be happier with. I am so incredibly grateful to be a Disney artist for now but jeez, these ladies make me want to step it up in a big beautiful way!
